The NUE NOTE Manifesto
A player where the music reaches you before anything else, and a place where works can be heard and valued from that starting point. We kept imagining a place like that, and before long our hands had started moving. That is how NUE NOTE came to be.
We are creators who long for discovery and listeners, and we are listeners who are moved by the thrill of finding something new. We also know that music is never only sound. The stories around a work, the craft behind it, and the lives of the artists can all become part of its beauty.
In other words, music is inseparable from human skill, effort, and life. Still, because the world of music is so wide, we wanted to create a place where the first story begins with the work itself.
That is why we think:
It should be possible for a story to begin from the power of the work itself.
And this is the future we imagine:
From that story, perhaps music itself can begin anew.
Here, we hope for two things:
The attention, feedback, and evaluation a work receives here should come from the music itself.
That music should be shaped by craft the creator has cultivated for themselves.
The environment this service offers is unique, and above all, we want to protect the sincere feelings for music that gather here.
Finally, we make this pledge: We pledge that we will never introduce paid features that influence the discovery or evaluation of works during their anonymous period.
We hope NUE NOTE can support the carefully honed feelings people pour into music, and contribute in some small way to the unfolding of music culture.
